Trademark Protection Guide
HookPilot marks, classes, watch program and enforcement posture.
1. Marks
HookPilot Caption Studio LLC asserts rights in the following marks: HOOKPILOT, HOOKPILOT CAPTION STUDIO, HOOKPILOT AGENCY, HOOKPILOT AGENT MARKETPLACE, SERA (the orchestration / supervisory layer behind the HookPilot AI Workforce Operating System), the HookPilot wordmark logo and the HookPilot pilot-cap monogram. Marks are used with the ® symbol where registered and the ™ symbol where pending or common-law. Future product and agent brand names (e.g., named department agents released as standalone offerings) inherit the same protection program described in this guide.
2. Classes
HookPilot's marks are intended for Nice Classes that match the product reality:
- Class 9 — downloadable software, mobile applications, recorded computer programs.
- Class 35 — advertising, business management, agency services.
- Class 38 — telecommunications and SaaS delivery channels.
- Class 41 — entertainment, video production, educational content.
- Class 42 — SaaS, AI development, hosting, software-as-a-service for content creation and AI workforce operations.
- Class 45 — online social-networking-related services where applicable.
3. Use in Commerce
HookPilot maintains evidence of continuous use in commerce: dated screenshots of hookpilot.co, app-store listings, billing receipts to customers in registered classes, and customer testimonials. Specimens are stored centrally and reviewed before each renewal.
4. Watch Program
HookPilot operates a watch program covering: USPTO new-application alerts for the HookPilot wordmark and confusingly similar variants; EUIPO and UKIPO equivalent; domain front-running (TLD watch on hookpilot.* and common typos); GitHub / npm / PyPI namespace squatting; app-store listings; LinkedIn and X handle squatting; and social-platform impersonation. Hits are triaged by the AI Governance and Legal & Compliance departments.
5. Enforcement Posture
HookPilot's posture is escalation-by-default: clarification letter → cease-and-desist → platform takedown → opposition / cancellation → litigation. We prefer fast, polite resolution. For look-alike domains and impersonation accounts, we move directly to platform-level takedown.
6. Domains and Handles
Canonical: hookpilot.co. Defensive registrations are maintained for hookpilot.com (where available), hookpilot.app, hookpilot.ai, getthehookpilot.* and common typos. Official social handles are tracked centrally; anything else is unofficial.
7. Customer-Generated Use of Third-Party Marks
Customers who generate content with Caption Studio or AI Music Video must only use third-party marks they have rights to. The HookPilot platform does not pre-clear third-party trademark use; Customers are responsible per the Terms §6 and AUP §2.
8. Renewals
Renewals and Section 8/9 affidavits are tracked at 6 / 3 / 1 months before deadlines. The Legal & Compliance department's Statute agent holds a veto on lapsing a registration without conscious decision.
9. Report Misuse
To report misuse of HookPilot marks (including phishing sites, fake job postings using the HookPilot name, or knock-off products): trademark@hookpilot.co.
